Jim Schroeder

Head Coach

spent his years  in various levels. He is the President of Football Operations, and Head Coach of an Elite football club that competes at the 14u level against national talent.

1996 - present

   In the JFL and Tri-County football with Belleville Devils, Collinsville Raiders and Ofallon Panthers. In those years he has been to 15 playoffs and won 12 championships.

 

2003 - present

   Illinois Metro Elite 14u select. Combined with Tri-County Allstars recorded a 17-5 record vs Canada Selects from Calgary Alberta Canada ending in 2013. Illinois Metro Elite has played in Regionals and won Regional Championships in 2014, 2016, and runner up in 2018.

 

2015-2017

   At CMS Middle School, OL/DL coach, along with LBs

Jamarri Green

Defensive Coordinator

A former player for Gateway Spartans, St. Clair County Seminoles and River City Rampage. This is his 1st year coaching with the Gateway Spartans.

Lynn Potts

Asst Defensive Coordinator

The former Head Coach for the Spartans has changed roles. He's a former WR for Long Beach State University. Played Semi Pro with the St. Louis Gamblers. Coached with the St . Louis Bull Dogs for over a decade, and this is his 4th year with the Spartans.

David Boxel

Offensive Line Coach/Special Teams Coordinator

Having been around the game of football for 15 years, he has a good deal of knowledge and a great passion for the game. Started his career in Dupo, IL, playing Center and Defensive Tackle for 5 years. After moving to Columbia, IL he played 5 more years as a Left Guard and Defensive Tackle. At Columbia High School, he played Linebacker, Safety, Running Back, and Offensive Tackle. Started his short semi pro playing career with the Spartans, where he played Defensive Back, Kicker, and Offensive Line. His season and career were cut short due to medical issues. He hopes to pass on his knowledge to the Spartans players moving forward.
